Both elliptical trainers offer a 20” Precision Path stride length and large articulating footplates with cushioning for comfort and both have static and moving handlebars so you can choose whether to work your upper and lower body together or just your lower body.
The Nautilus E616 is the higher-end elliptical trainer and offers extra features over the E614 such as additional workout options, more resistance levels, and a motorized incline instead of manual.
In addition, the Nautilus E616 Elliptical Trainer features a new dual-rail system that ensures smoother operation with less side-to-side motion for added stability.
The Nautilus E616 also features some up-grades on its console compared to the E614, such as Bluetooth connectivity, telemetry enabled heart-rate monitor, and a blue backlit display. In addition, the E616 allows for up to 4 user profiles compared to just 2 on the E614.
The Bluetooth connectivity on the Nautilus E616 enables you to connect to online fitness tracking apps as well as the Explore the World App (subscription required) which offers a wide range of global courses - workout at your own pace as it automatically adjusts to your speed. You can track your stats, sync your data and and share your results. The E614 does not have Bluetooth connectivity and is not compatible with the Explore the World App.

Nautilus E614 Elliptical Trainer |
Nautilus E616 Elliptical Trainer |
Summary:
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with either of these elliptical trainer machines. Both the Nautilus E614 and E616 are sturdily built and for many people the E614 would be more than adequate for their needs, offering plenty of options to keep your workouts interesting and motivating. With high-end features like the sound system, USB charging, data exchange, performance tracking, and a cooling fan, you’re getting a lot for your money with this machine!
However, for the relatively small extra cost of the Nautilus E616, you get the added bonus of even more programs and resistance levels for extra variety and challenge. You also get the convenience of a motorized incline instead of having to manually adjust it which is ideal if you’re likely to use the incline feature a lot. Don’t forget, the E616 is also Bluetooth and telemetry heart-rate enabled too which the E614 is not, if those features are important to you. The E616 is also perfect for households where more than 2 people are likely to use the elliptical trainer on a regular basis as it allows up to 4 user profiles instead of 2.
